If’s travel care service will be renewed as of 1 October 2025

We are happy to announce that we are expanding If’s own travel care service. Going forward, you will receive assistance through a single point of contact, both on business travel and expatriation. If’s travel care will assist you in matters related to health, safety, and wellbeing.

As the service is fully managed by If, we can further streamline operations, enhance the customer experience, and improve cost efficiency. You will receive assistance from If’s travel care around the clock in at least five languages: Finnish, English, Swedish, Norwegian, and Danish.

The change will be implemented in two phases:

  • From 1 October 2025, all contacts related to expatriate insurance will be handled by If’s travel care.
  • During January 2026, all contacts related to travel insurance will also be handled by If’s travel care.

During the transition, both our current partner and If’s travel care will assist you worldwide in parallel.

Expanded medical provider network

As part of the renewal, coordination of the medical provider network will be transferred to Euro-Center, one of the world’s leading providers of medical assistance, travel care, and insurance claims handling.

Service quality will improve as the network grows more than threefold – Euro-Center’s global network of over 80,000 providers enables fast, high-quality, and cost-efficient care locally almost anywhere in the world.

Contact details

Going forward, If’s travel care will be available 24/7 through a single centralized contact channel.

Mobile insurance cards

With the mobile insurance card, you can check the insurance contact details and the policy number.

If you have previously downloaded the expatriate mobile insurance card, you will automatically receive the updated card on your device after 1 October 2025. The travel mobile insurance card will be updated in January 2026. If you do not yet have a mobile card, you can order a download link by emailing iftravel@if.fi. Your employee may also share the link via your company intranet or by email to you. Sending the link by email is recommended, especially for groups of named insured persons.

Seeking care

If’s travel care is the first point of contact for you in matters such as arranging appointments, payment guarantees, choosing a medical facility, or organizing hospital care. If’s travel care ensures that you receive the right treatment and can recover safely. For self-paid expenses, such as medicines or non-urgent treatment, claims can be submitted at www.if.fi/travel. Claim submissions for luggage as well as travel delays and cancellations are also made via the same website.

Expatriates in the United States

Employees on long-term expatriation in the United States will continue as United Healthcare (UHC) members. Going forward, UHC insurance cards will be delivered through our partner Euro-Center. In early September, we will provide information about the change to all insured persons working long-term in the United States.
