Claiming for Indemnity

You can claim for indemnity for medical or other expenses you have paid for by filling in an on-line claim form. The claim must be made within one year from the date of accident, first visit to a doctor, disappearance of baggage etc.

Fill in a separate claim form for each family member and insured event. 

Attaching documents to your claim

Online claim form

When claiming for indemnity of personal claim using online claim form you do not have to send any documents. If we need further information e.g. receipts or sign a letter of authority for Finnish Sickness Insurance Act we will contact you. For claiming for indemnity of baggage claims the original documents must be sent to us.

Printable (paper) claim form

If you claim for indemnity using the paper claim form you have to attach the following documents to your claim in cases listed below:

Minor accident or sickness

Attach the following documents to your claim in case of minor accident or sickness

  • Original receipts or copies of medical expenses
  • Original receipts of medicines, and prescriptions or copies of these
Severe accident or sickness

Attach the following documents to your claim in case of severe accident or sickness

  • Medical certificate (in Finland, Form E in case of accident, and Form B in case of sickness)
  • Original receipts or invoices of medical expenses
  • Report of an offence if the accident involves a crime
Dental care

Attach the following documents to your claim if it is regarding dental care

  • Original receipts, or invoices of medical expenses
  • Dentist's statement of dental care already performed, or treatment proposal, and a cost estimate of necessary treatment
Eye glasses

Attach the following documents to your claim if it is regarding eye glasses

  • The original receipt of new eye glasses
  • In the Assignment Insurance, the prescription for both old and new eye glasses if eyesight has changed during the assignment
Cancellation of journey

Attach the following documents in case of a cancellation of the journey

  • Medical certificate indicating the reason for the cancellation
  • A certificate of the travel expenses compensated by the tour operator
  • Tickets and a receipt of the tickets, and a statement by the tour operator in case compensation has not been paid
  • Extract from the population register to clarify the family connection, if the cancellation results from the sickness, accident or death of a close relative
Curtailment of journey

Attach the following documents in case of a curtailment of the journey

  • Certificate of the reason for the curtailment
  • Original receipts of extraordinary travel and accommodation expenses
  • Account of expenses complying with the original plan
  • Extract from the population register to clarify the family connection, if the interruption results from the sickness, accident or death of a close relative
Death caused by accident

Attach the following documents if there is a death caused by an accident

  • Extracts from the population register with respect to beneficiaries
  • Death certificate
  • Beneficiaries' personal details (date of birth and identity code, or date of birth, address, and bank account details
Baggage

Attach the following documents if the claim is regarding the baggage

  • Report of an offence if the case involves a crime
  • Certificate issued by the carrier (for example a PIR report)
  • Original purchase receipt, guarantee certificate, repair bill or other such account of the amount of loss
Liability insurance and legal expenses insurance relating to travel

Attach the following documents in connection to liability insurance and legal expenses insurance relating to travel

  • Names and addresses of possible witnesses
  • Possible report of a police investigation performed
  • The claim presented
  • Repair bill or receipt of the amount of loss

Remember to attach the required documents when reporting a claim with a printable claim form
